I am sorry to say we have not done any baking for about a month now.  My mother had Open Heart Surgery in mid October,  after coming to my house to convalesce she unexpectedly passed away.  It has been a shock to us and I have been attending to her business as well as coping with her sudden death.  She was 74 years old and like most older people she got to the point where she stayed at home quit a bit. 
 
Finances are very tight for our elderly community.  With the financial burdens such as home expenses, medicine, and groceries our older generation have trouble meeting expenses every month.  Therefore, the money raised this month will buy food that will be used for everyday food or Thanksgiving dinner that will be delivered to elderly people through out the community.  If you know any elderly people that could use a helping hand or will not be with any family on the Holiday's please let us know.   
 
 I know it is now time to pull up my baking apron and get back on the Cupcake for Chloe baking wagon.

We take orders one week and deliver the following Tuesday. There will be 5 Tuesdays for these flavors.

Deliveries will be October 27, November 3, 10, 17, 24

Cut off for the orders will be Friday by 4:00 pm. 

You can pickup orders on Tuesdays from 2:00pm to 5:00pm.  Deliveries will be made from 9:45am to 2:00pm

THE STORY OF CUPCAKES FOR CHLOE

Chaney and I have found just by looking into our own hearts, that we have not done nearly enough for our community and others. When we looked back at our lives and wondered just what it is we have accomplished for our community or to benefit others, it has been very little. Chaney and I have been discussing the idea that on Tuesdays we would deliver cupcakes to people in the community that we felt were just not appreciated enough.  The idea was just in the discussion stage until Chris Hendricks sent us a link about Chris's friend/coworker's child that was ill.  After reading the story of "The Amazing Chloe", we knew we had found the direction we wanted The Cupcake Tuesday to go in.  We will let you pull up this link and read Chloe's story and see what an Amazing Child and Family we have in our community.

We have decided to name our community benefit "Cupcakes for Chloe", to honor the "The Amazing Chloe".  By ordering the cupcakes, you will be giving a gift that will keep on giving to our community in months to come as long as the orders come in.   Every Tuesday we will have baked cupcakes for sale.  We will sell 1/2 dozen cupcakes for $6.50 or 1 dozen cupcakes  for  $12.00.  If you need more than 1 dozen, we are all about the "benefit" and we will negotiate a price.  The profit off of these cupcakes after we replenish our baking supplies will go to a recipient in our community.  We will let you know every month who that recipient will be.

On Tuesday June 10, 2008 at 10:00 am we will start to take our first order for "Cupcakes for Chloe".  The cupcakes will be ready for pickup or delivery (within a 30 mile radius) the following Tuesday, June 17, 2008.  Please be patient and understand that we have 1 volunteer, and Chaney and myself at this time taking orders and baking.  We think that you have figured out that this month's recipients will be Chloe and her family.  We are hoping this will give us both some direction in the things we really do need to accomplish in our lives.  Chaney and I want to start what we hope will be a great community involvement project.  All it will take from you is to order "Cupcakes for Chloe" on Tuesdays.  We can make the cupcakes a gift and deliver them and on the tag it will say:  Cupcakes were purchased in Honor of Cupcakes for Chloe by your name.  We will have four different cupcake flavors a week.
